Happy Earth Day! Let’s talk about poop!
Our animals poop a lot. Our staff here at the Akron Zoo have found a way to use the poop to help benefit our environment – composting! Two years ago we debuted a state-of-the-art aerobic composter called Big Hanna. Big Hanna “eats” the animal poop and other items like food scraps and after a few weeks, creates compost that our horticulture team can use in our beautiful gardens.
