Pressrelease from our distributors BERCA BRAND and BERCA INSULAR
The European Union’s Waste Framework Directive (DMR) highlights the European Union’s circular economy strategy, focused on efficiently using available resources, in a way that imposes on member states the need to take measures to promote prevention, the reuse of the products and the activities of preparation for the reuse and recycling, guaranteeing the fulfillment of a series of clearly defined objectives. What they will have to incorporate into their plans and programs to achieve the already famous 2020 goals.
To achieve percentages of reduction and recovery of materials, the adoption of actions on biowaste is essential, since it constitutes the largest fraction in the waste sent to landfill in Spain.
The Spain law promotes measures taken to separate biological waste and treat it in compost or biogas plants, in particular the vegetable fraction. Especially for the large generators of the bio-waste and the bio-waste generated in homes, composted in domestic and community units/plants.
Hotel Tigaiga in Puerto de la Cruz decided to take their own actions and installed a Big Hanna model T60-40LS at their establishment and gets in this way an equipment for composting based of the latest technology, a model of produced by Susteco AB located in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Hotel makes a separate collection of the biowaste and processes it in their own composting equipment, allowing considerable savings in terms of waste collection fees and transport, which translates into significant savings in natural resources and CO2 emissions.
This installation has recently received the visit of Cecilia Ek, the Director of Susteco AB, who is the manufacturer of the Big Hanna and a team of the the company of the distributors of Big Hanna in Spain, BERCA BRAND and BERCA INSULAR. At the visit they installed the unit and held a training for the hotel personal in correct operation.
