can be composted. Installing a Big Hanna Composter in a housing area gives
residents control over 50% of the costs of waste disposal! And it is sustainable
- One Brighton is a development by Crest Nicholson BioRegional Quintain
in Brighton, their green lifestyle features include roof top allotments
as well as a Big Hanna composter. With the closure of landfill sites all
over the world and the introduction of the concept of recycling, waste treatment
is becoming more and more costly. Kew Gardens at Wakehurst Place, HM Prison
Service and the UK Ministry of Defence are just a few of the many organisations
that have taken the green choice to compost on-site with a Big Hanna Composter.
The compost is used as a fertilizer which means there is no need for chemical
soil additives or peat. Compost from a number of Big Hanna’s has been
analysed according PAS 100, the UK standard for compost quality, surpassing
the quality requirements.
The environment is a winner from on-site composting!
Composting with Big Hanna Composter means that we close the loop on site,
where we work and or live and thus contribute actively to sustainable development.

It is simple and practical to compost with Big Hanna
Composter!
It is simple and practical because the most unpleasant fraction of the waste
stream - the food waste, is being dealt with hygienically on a daily basis.
You empty your food waste into Big Hanna Composter every day. The average
process time inside the machine is 8-10 weeks. The aeration and turning
is done automatically which means that the natural decomposition process
works perfectly from start to finish. The finished compost is automatically
fed in to a bag or bin ready to be mixed with soil or put on maturation
bay. The composting process takes place in an in-vessel composting unit
so there are no unpleasant odours on-site. Our customers have all high demands
on an economical and functional handling of food waste. We have a vast experience
from our many installations and can make sure that the whole chain, from
food waste to compost, works as smoothly and simple as possible. A bin lift
and a hopper fed inlet are one of the many options available for adjusting
your Big Hanna Composter to your requirements. Read more about our products!
Getting something back - compost!
Another reason for composting on-site is simply the compost! When the biological
process is finished the food waste is reduced by up to 90%. This means that
you make your own, peat free, environmentally friendly compost - 10% of
what you put in you get back in compost! We cannot hope to reverse trends
without changing our habits. Composting on-site with the Big Hanna Composter
is a vehicle for education and empowerment - centralised solutions cannot
have the same impact.
